Congrats to my Brother!

The other day, I had a chance to make a card for my brother. He found out that he got into NC State, and I was so happy for him! I love him so much! He plays with me, makes stuff with me, and makes me laugh. I am so grateful to have him as a brother.
So, I made this simple card for him to congratulate him, not only for getting into NC State, but also for being an awesome brother!

DIY Red Velvet Cake Butter Slime!

Red Velvet Cake Butter Slime

Today I am going to show you how to make butter slime! This is one of my favorite slimes! I found out this really cool method that turns out perfect for me!

These are the materials you will need :

Clear Glue
Model Magic (found at any craft store)
Laundry Detergent
Food Coloring (optional)
Mixing Bowl
Stirring Utensil
Air Tight Container

It spreads well, just like real butter!

The first step is to pour in 2 ounces of clear glue.

Next, take one ounce of model magic and mix it with the clear glue until it is well combined (I used my hands so it was easier)

If you want, you can add in a few drops of food coloring if your model magic is not colored.

Then, add in your laundry detergent little by little until it starts pulling away from the bowl. Knead with hands, if still sticky, add more laundry detergent.

Spread it, mold it, and squish it! If you want to play with it later, store in air tight container. I called mine red velvet cake butter slime! Have fun!

Another Slime Workshop!

These are the kids making fluffy slime!

We had another slime workshop, but this time we did it for the older kids! It was a big success! The kids had so much fun! We started by introducing ourselves so we could get to know each other. The first slime we made was fluffy slime. We taught them step by step of how to make it. We experimented with different colors and different shades. Once we added in all of our ingredients we added in our contact solution little by little. If it was still sticky, we added in more. Then, we kept on kneading it until we had the perfect slime! We then put the slime in our containers so they could take it home.

The next slime we made was floam slime. We used micro floam beads to make it feel cooler. When we were done making it, we molded our floam into different shapes! We also made these slimes scented! This made it even more fun to play with(we made it watermelon scented) Just like the other slime workshop we had, we also sold slime kits on how to make fluffy slime. Huda and I had a lot of fun with the kids, and we will have another one February 2nd.

Testing Different Activators for Clear Slime!

This was the laundry detergent method. 
The Slime
is crystal clear!

About two weeks ago I experimented and made two clear slimes with different activators. There are many methods on the internet on how to make clear slime.  I wanted to find out what was the best activator for clear slime, so I could use that method for making all my clear slime.

The two activators I tested:

*a mixture of contact solution & baking soda
*laundry detergent

The first one I tested out was contact solution with baking soda . I first poured in my glue into a mixing bowl, and in a separate bowl I mixed in contact solution and baking soda. I added my solution little at a time until it started pulling away from the bowl, then kneaded it with my hands until it wasn't sticky. Then, I put it in an air tight container for about two weeks. This one did not end up being clear. For some reason there is a thick layer of hard bubbles on top and the bottom is slightly clear. It was very stiff when I took it out of the container. This one did not work out for me, and I did not like this method.

I also tried out making clear slime with laundry detergent. Again, I poured my glue into my mixing bowl and added my laundry detergent little by little. (I used tide laundry detergent) Then, I knead it  until it was not sticky, and left it in air tight container for two weeks, just like the first one. After two weeks of waiting, it turned out to be crystal clear and very soft and stretchy! It was so awesome, and it is definitely worth the wait and experiment!

So, if you need a good activator for clear slime I recommend clear laundry detergent. It is easy, and turns out to be the perfect slime! If you are wondering why I don't use borax, it is because borax is toxic and not so safe for kids. Lots of kids got burned by making slime with borax.

I make slime so it is fun, and safe!

This is the saline solution/baking soda method.

First ever Slime Workshop

 Today was a super fun day because Huda and I had our first Slime workshop where we taught kids how to make fluffy and jiggly slime! The first slime we made was fluffy slime. We had the measurements already in plastic cups and we told them the order of the ingredients, and what they should do. We let them choose whatever color they wanted so it would be so much more fun! We also made cool slime kits that teaches them how to make fluffy slime with exact measurements and directions. The kids enjoyed it so we decided to do another one on Jan. 30th. We are looking forward for that day to come!
